Dudley’s dementia gateways

Residents in the borough of Dudley are benefiting from a new approach to the care and treatment of people with dementia, with the creation of dementia gateways that give life time access to specialist advice and support.

The service, consisting of nurses and advisors from Dudley Primary Care Trust and the council’s adult social care team, is available to anyone diagnosed with the condition, and their carers and family.

Nurses and advisors develop support plans that are unique to each person. The gateways also offer a range of activities and therapies.
